Outdoor Movie Night Committee – VOLUNTEER POSITIONS OPEN

• Do you enjoy coordinating events and want to help start a new Fall tradition at GES?

• Do you enjoy socializing and meeting new people?

 

PTO is looking for one or more parents to coordinate our first Outdoor Movie Night, scheduled for Friday, October 14th (rain date - October 29). We have the movie screen and movie license - just need someone to help facilitate logistics of the evening with school administration, organize food pre-orders and pickup the night of, as well as any tickets/volunteers/checking-in, if necessary.

Trunk or Treat Committee – VOLUNTEER POSITIONS OPEN

Planning for Trunk or Treat is in full swing!

We are currently forming a committee of volunteers to...

• Organize schedule of games and/or activities

• Organize trunk decorators

• Coordinate giveaways and student prizes

• Facilitate costume donations and distribution

Holiday Festival Committee – VOLUNTEER POSITIONS OPEN

Staff Appreciation – VOLUNTEER POSITIONS OPEN

• Do you want to help show our staff just how much they're loved?

PTO is looking for a Staff Appreciation Chair as well as committee members to plan fun little things for the staff throughout the school year as well as Staff Appreciation Week (May 1-5, 2023).

Beautification – VOLUNTEER POSITIONS OPEN

• Do you enjoy being outside and working in the yard?

• Would you like to volunteer on your own time without a set schedule?

​

PTO is looking for families to 'Adopt an Outdoor Space' on our school grounds. Responsibilities would include tasks such as pulling weeds, removing trash/debris and general maintenance of the area you adopt. No need for special mowers or other equipment! Come once or twice a month, on any day or time that is convenient for your schedule.

If you are interested, please email us at gesparent.teacher.organization@gmail.com. Ideally, we would prefer that families could commit to participating monthly for the full school year, but if you are only able to do a shorter length of time, just let us know! Once we know who would like to be involved, we can provide you with more information and designate zones!

School Store – VOLUNTEER POSITIONS OPEN

• Are you savvy in retail and math?
• Do you enjoy helping kids?
• Are you available at least once a week before school hours?

​

PTO is looking to re-open the School Store after many years closed and we need a few volunteers to make it happen! Responsibilities would include tasks such as organizing items for purchase (think - fun pens, notebooks, bookmarks, gator gear, etc), "staffing" the store for a short time before school begins (hours TBD, days flexible), helping students make purchases as well as providing them with other learning opportunities. We'd love to eventually have students shadow our volunteer(s) after the store is up and running, too! This is such an invaluable opportunity for kids to strengthen their skills in many areas.

We would like to have the school store open at least once or twice a week to start and can set up a monthly schedule ahead of time based on volunteers' availability. 

​

Spirit Night Coordinator – VOLUNTEER POSITIONS OPEN

• Do you enjoy local restaurants and other dining establishments?

• Do you have some time available now to make a few phone calls and/or send emails?

​

PTO is looking for someone to schedule spirit nights for the upcoming school year. Responsibilities would include reaching out to some of our local businesses, coordinating dates with us based on the school & PTO calendar and serving as our point of contact for information related to the events throughout the school year. Ideally, we'd like someone who is able to schedule all or most dates prior to the start of school. We are able to provide you with some date options as well as a list of places that are happy to give back to our school!
